Our Story
BloomGal was dreamed up by Wendy Jones Rockcastle, co-owner of Rockcastle Florist.
Wendy believes that everyone deserves the joy and positive benefits of receiving flowers on a regular basis. After mulling over the idea of a floral subscription service for a while, she knew she had to pull the trigger on the idea when upstate NY was affected by Covid 19. With the help of her daughter, Mary Ethel Rockcastle, the duo wanted to bring more beauty to their friends and neighbors by offering the local floral subscription service BloomGal.
Wendy Jones Rockcastle is a co-owner of Rockcastle Florist along with her Husband Keith, a highly renowned floral and gift establishment that has been in the Rockcastle family for more than 70 years. Wendy is known locally for her creative taste, passion for tracking upcoming styles and trends, and love of collaborating with other local creatives. She can be found with a pug or a french bulldog at her feet dreaming up new designs for Bloom Gal and Rockcastle Florist.
Mary Ethel Rockcastle is a designer, illustrator, and photographer often working on too many projects at once. She graduated with a BFA in illustration from Parsons the New School for Design in 2015 and came back to live and work in her hometown of Rochester. She’s usually found sewing or snuggling her rescue dog.
