Shelby Beyler
Shelby is the founder and leading lady behind The Botanist- a resource for both renting and purchasing live plants and to find information regarding how to keep your own houseplants thriving.
Shelby has always felt a deep connection to the earth, and found herself collecting indoor houseplants after becoming a working mother. She taught herself botanical names, identifying pests, effective disease control, as well as soil science and plant biology. She began shadowing a plant and gardening mentor as she worked in her job at a greenhouse in order to satiate her need for more plant knowledge.
During this self-evolution, she recognized that there wasn't a reputable source to find information on plant varieties, botanical identification, and houseplant care, especially within the Rochester community. She found an opportunity to become a wealth of knowledge on houseplants and became one of Rochester’s most trusted plant advisors.
She now offers private consultations to local businesses and residences, connects planty people through a local plant club, PlantsROC, and offers rental services to those who would love to add a live feature to their events.
Shelby’s non-plant passions include: Changing her hair color, attending art shows, cooking, painting, reading, attempting to play the ukulele, loving on her dogs + kids.
